Most deaerators in operational use are generally vertically positioned. The two most widely used deaerators are the standard spray type deaerator and the tray type deaerator. While both types of deaerators come equipped with or without pump packages, there is also a double shell tray deaerator in use. With or without pumps, standard deaerators operate from a single tank whilst servicing high volume capacities.

It does not utilize a pump and it has carrying capacity of around 200,000 units per volume. Units are classified in line with standardized specifications as well as agreed upon custom design. Custom designed deaerators can be prepared for volumes as high as 800,000 units.
The deaerators are always prepared for power plant capacity. They should also always be designed in accordance with HEI requirements. A prepared tray unit, as will be the case for the tray type deaerator, has a minimal plan area with maximum turn downs in mind. It also has a longer life span than alternatives.
The tank car deaerator, although different, does have similar characteristics to the tray and spray type deaerators. Bolted double shell tray deaerators give business owners a choice of carrying capacity as well as pump components, as the case may be for their scale of business.
